After two false alarms the night before thanksgiving, This mama finally went into labor the day after. Mom, dad, big sister, and the rest of the birth team were able to have a nice thanksgiving with their families, thank goodness <3. I remember standing in line after giving into my obsession with movies on Black Friday, hoping that I wouldn't get a call before I paid. I was also extremely hoping that baby would let us all at least nap before they made their grand entrance. Guess what?! the little babe did! I got a call around 4 am that very next day!
I knew Kyla had been in early labor the past couple days so I think we were all anxious for baby to get here so mama and her body can rest <3. I got there before mom and dad got there, the doula wasn't even there yet! I'm still not sure how that happened because I took my time getting out of the house, I guess I was just super excited to take pictures of this beautiful mama and her little babe.
Mama was in labor for a few days so she was ready for baby to come out. She started off outside of the tub and went in the nice warm water, maybe an hour before baby actually said hello to the world. She honestly was super inspiring to watch and she took beautiful labor pictures might I add ;).
Its amazing how a woman's body and the babies body naturally knows what to do. Her body is working so hard to birth this beautiful ball of life, how painful it is and how exhausting it can be is actually really beautiful to watch!
After a few big pushes baby came right out. Exhausted mama held on to the little babe with tears in her eyes, relived that her and her baby were safe (despite the cord wrapped around his neck). Along with the birth team, dad and big sister were there to welcome Preston Talmage Spiva to the world. They didn't know the gender until dad felt that he was a boy! Almost born en-caul, Talm was born on November 25th around 842 am at a whopping 9.69 lbs.
Happy birthday Talm (pronounced as Tom) <3.
